Graduates of the University of Iowa School of Urban and Regional Planning continue to be among the nation’s leaders in passing the nation’s leading examination of planning professional skills. The American Planning Association recently announced the 2004-2012 American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) exam pass rate results. During that time period, University of Iowa alumni had a pass rate of 89%, tying for 9th among planning schools whose alumni have attempted the exam 19 or more times. This well exceeds the mean pass rate of 72%. At an 89 percent pass rate, Iowa is tied with Penn, Michigan, Texas, University of Virginia, and University of California-Irvine.  For details, go to http://www.planning.org/certification/passrates/
