Professor Lucie Laurian was recently interviewed by WalletHub to speak about living in small towns. WalletHub is a personal finance website and included the interview in their article, “2017’s Best Small Cities in America.” Laurian and other experts gave their perspectives on the benefits of living in a city the size of Iowa City as well as how policy makers can work to attract residents to smaller towns. All agree on the many benefits of living in small towns in terms of cost of living and easy commutes, and call for small towns to maintain or grow local amenities to attract and retain local businesses.
