Ben Curtis, class of 2016, has been selected to be the new director for the Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce in Kalona, IA. Before pursuing his master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Iowa, Ben completed his bachelor’s in Environmental Policy at Drake University in Des Moines, IA.

Ben became acquainted with the Kalona area while completing an internship between the first and second year of his master’s studies. That summer he served as the Watershed Planning Intern for the English River Watershed Management Authority. After graduation, he began working as Project Manager for the City of Kalona and these successes led to his current position at the Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce.
