Why did you join the Program? At the University of Iowa, the urban planning master's courses provide practical skills that will help you apply planning ideas in real-life situations. I was attracted to this program by the professional capstone projects that are done in the second year for Iowa communities. I worked on several similar projects as an undergraduate but this degree will build on my experience. The planning profession allows you to see real change in your community and the life of your neighbor.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining this program? Go for it, do not second-guess yourself, submit an application. Anyone can succeed in this program if they have the energy to try.

What is a fun fact about you? (favorite fandom, special talent, favorite trivia): I enjoy playing soccer – we call it football in Ghana.
