Area of study:
Public Affairs combined with MA in Strategic Communication
Concentration: Public Policy

Why did you join the Program? I joined the SPPA program because I was interested in policy communication. SPPA not only would provide a great foundation through a public affairs degree, but the program was willing to be flexible and encouraging when I expressed interest in pursuing a second graduate degree.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining this program Explore your interests through your electives! If there is a class outside of the program that you'd like to take that relates to the content, don't be afraid to ask about taking it.

Anything else you would like to share? I would encourage students to explore ways to get involved as graduate students, especially for those looking to work for any level of government. Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG), Graduate Student Senate (GSS), and other campus organizations that have opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in advocacy and leadership.

What is a fun fact about you? I went to art school from grades 4 to 6.
