The School of Planning and Public Affairs and the Department of Political Science recently partnered with the Big Ten Collaboration: Democracy in the 21st Century on a mayors forum, "Cities on the front line: Urban approaches to national issues."

This special virtual event brought together mayors from very different cities across Big Ten states, including Iowa City's Mayor Bruce Teague. He joined the mayors of Chicago, Detroit, and Cincinnati, responding to pressing national social issues including the COVID pandemic, presidential elections, economic recessions, urban infrastructure, gun violence, housing shortages, social justice movements, and climate change.
