The School of Planning and Public Affairs Student Association (SPPASA) is our student organization, representing all students pursuing a master's degree in Urban Planning or Public Affairs. SPPASA is vital to our school. It contributes to our welcoming, active, fun, and supportive community, and creates life-long friendships and bonds during SPPA students' graduate education. The group organizes social events (happy hours, outings, field trips, community meals, holiday events) and community service events (e.g., food drives, United Way events).

SPPASA presents student ideas, concerns, and input through: student representatives at faculty meetings; the Iowa Chapter of the American Planning Association; campuswide Graduate and Professional Student Government; and to other organizations as students see fit depending on their interests and priorities.
