Biography

Jody is the Executive Director of Feed Iowa First, a role that perfectly aligns with her passions for entrepreneurship, economic development, and local food systems. She earned a Master of Arts in public affairs in 2022 and a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2010, both from the University of Iowa. Jody is especially proud to have been part of the inaugural cohort of the School of Planning and Public Affairs' (SPPA) public affairs program, which launched in 2020. During her time as a graduate student, she was honored with the Jim Harris Memorial Scholarship from SPPA. 

After completing her MPA, Jody joined the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), where she specialized in providing technical assistance and consulting on community projects. Prior to that, her experience includes working at various local economic development organizations including the former Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD) and Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance. Jody's career has consistently focused on her strong interests in local public administration, leadership and organizational development, food systems, sustainable economic development, and entrepreneurship.
