Caleb Smith

Biography

Caleb Smith is a Performance Analyst at the City of Chicago Office of Inspector General, where he works in the Public Safety section’s Performance Analysis Unit. In his work he conducts in-depth evaluations and reviews of the policies, practices, and programs of the Chicago Police Department and Chicago’s policy accountability agencies. These agencies include the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) and the Police Board.

Caleb is among the newest cohort to graduate from the University of Iowa School of Planning and Public Affairs, where he obtained his Master’s of Public Affairs (MPAff) with a concentration in Public Policy in 2022. Caleb also obtained his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a minor in Human Relations and a certificate in Leadership Studies. Caleb stands firm in his belief that service to our communities is of the utmost importance, in the effort to create a more equitable and citizen driven society. Lastly, Caleb’s personal philosophy is to be a part of the solution that moves our communities and country forward.
