Hannah Neel

Biography

Hannah is an Associate Transportation Planner at the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County (MPOJC), focusing on planning activities for all three of the Iowa City Urbanized Area’s transit systems, analyzing and preparing traffic studies, grant management, and maintaining state and federal reporting for the Iowa City Urbanized Area. Prior to her time at MPOJC, she was a Regional Planner at the Siouxland Interstate Metropolitan Planning Organization where she ran the MPO’S travel demand model, created and maintained a number of maps, and assisted with a variety of transportation projects. She worked as the Brownfields Project Coordinator for the City of Coralville, Iowa from 2017 to 2020, managing an Environmental Protection Agency grant and working with stakeholders and the public to raise awareness about brownfields.

Hannah is a member of the Iowa Chapter of the American Planning Association. She earned a B.A. in Environmental Sciences, minors in Geography, Geology, and Mass Communications and a certificate in Sustainability from the University of Iowa in 2017. She earned an M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa in 2020.
