Phuong Nguyen
Dr. Nguyen is a Professor, Associate Director, and Director of Graduate Studies in the School of Planning and Public Affairs. He is a nationally recognized researcher with a prolific publication record, including over 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. His research has garnered awards from the International Association of Assessing Officers, the Association for Education Finance and Policy, and the Midwest Public Affairs Conference. Additionally, he is co-editor of the journal Public Finance and Management.
Dr. Nguyen’s dedication to teaching is evident in his consistently high student evaluations. He received the prestigious national teaching award from the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) in 2018 for his innovative approach to the course Public Finance and Budgeting. He holds a Master of Public Policy from Duke University and a PhD in Public Administration from Syracuse University.
