Iowans may have become poorer since 2000, while housing has become proportionately more expensive. Growth is concentrating in just a few metropolitan areas - Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City. These were some of the preliminary results Heather MacDonald presented at the Iowa Housing Conference on September 19. The findings come from a new study commissioned by the Iowa Finance Authority, on which Heather and Rick Funderburg are working.
