On October 8 and 9, Timothy Beatley, will make several presentations on campus as an Ida Beam Visiting Professor. Beatley is the Teresa Heinz Professor of Sustainable Communities, in the Department of Urban & Environmental Planning, School of Architecture, at The University of Virginia.

His recent work is focused on the subject of sustainable communities and creative strategies by which cities and towns can fundamentally reduce their ecological footprints, while at the same time become more livable and equitable places. His visit is expected to offer ideas and perspectives to help the academic and lay communities engage with each other on issues of direct importance to the community.

More information about his visit, including the times and locations of his presentations, is available here.

Urban and Regional Planning is one of the sponsors of this event.
