Urban and Regional Planning students in their second year of study are creating sustainability plans for the towns of Anamosa, Columbus Junction, Decorah and Wellman, Iowa. As part of their Field Problems course, the students will offer the towns assistance in such areas of economic development (possible regional wind farm), land use (floodplain development), and energy sustainability planning. This gives the small towns an opportunity to benefit from planning services offered by the University of Iowa's graduate planning program. Full story.

The Cedar Rapids Gazette ran a front page article about the projects, focusing on the Anamosa group, on October 24th.
