First-year student Robyn Fennig was recently chosen to be on the Student Representatives Council of the American Planning Association, representing Region IV. As a Region IV representative, Robyn will have the honor of serving planning students in the states of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Regional representatives are chosen each year by students from their respective six regions during the APA Student Annual Meeting and Exchange at APA's National Planning Conference. This year, in Boston, Robyn ran for the Student Representatives Council (SRC) Regional IV Representative. She won in a close election! As an SRC Regional Representative, Robyn will have extra opportunities to network with planning students and professionals from around the country, participate in APA leadership activities twice a year (in Washington D.C. in fall 2011 and Los Angeles in spring 2012), and further develop skills as a leader and volunteer. This occurs through outreach and connecting student organizations throughout the region, and encouraging them to develop partnerships at the local, state, and regional level. Robyn also looks forward to helping to develop student resources and conference activities for the 2012 National Planning Conference in Los Angeles.
