The UI School of Urban and Regional Planning and the UI Office of Sustainability invite students, faculty, staff, and the general public to attend a talk given by University of Michigan professor emeritus Robert Marans. Professor Marans will speak on "From Energy Conservation to an Integrated Assessment of Sustainability Practices: The University of Michigan Experience" at 7:00 p.m., September 20th in room 101 Biology Building East.

Robert W. Marans is a research professor at the Institute for Social Research and a professor emeritus of architecture and urban planning in the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan. During the past 30 years, Dr. Marans has conducted evaluative studies and research dealing with various aspects of communities, neighborhoods, housing, and parks and recreation and recreational facilities. His current research considers the issues of sustainability and energy conservation in institutional settings.
