Headshot of Kwame Owusu-Daaku

First-year student, Kwame Owusu-Daaku won one of ten awards for his poster presented at the Interdisciplinary Health Research Poster Session organized by the Interdisciplinary Health Group of the Public Policy Center. This event provides UI students working on health-related research an opportunity to highlight their work and interact with researchers from other disciplines. His poster was titled, "Voluntary Counseling and Testing Acceptability Among First Year College of Health Science Students," and was co-authored by Dr. Yaw Nsiah-Peprah and Dr Frances T.K. Owusu-Daaku, who are also of Ghana. Kwame completed the majority of this work for his undergraduate thesis (in 2009) and updated a considerable amount of the information during his first semester as a URP student in 2011. He gives credit to URP for the tips and guidelines for poster presentations provided on our website.
