On February 3, GPURP hosted a policy summit titled “Planning for a Better Region: A Summit for Policy Makers, Planners, and the Public in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Region. The one-day event featured an overview from Professor James Throgmorton titled, “Imagining CRANDICIA,” a roundtable discussion involving local planning directors throughout the region, a panel session with faculty from our Program, and a public exploration of creative ideas. The summit was supported by a “Year of Public Engagement” grant from the Office of the President, The University of Iowa.

The event took place at Green and Hawkinson Halls in the University of Iowa’s Levitt Center. For more information, please visit the conference web site at http://www.urban.uiowa.edu/engage/directors.htm.
