Karla Twedt-Ball

Biography

Karla Twedt-Ball is the Senior Vice President, Programs & Community Investment at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. Karla joined the Community Foundation in 2007, and currently manages the team that focuses on grantmaking, nonprofit support, and community leadership efforts. Karla leads the Community Foundation’s collaborative work. She has particular interest in projects that work toward equitable community-based solutions through broad multi-sector partnerships.

She has spent her career in the nonprofit sector, with work ranging from policy research/evaluation to grantmaking and community collaborations. Karla has served on numerous nonprofit boards of directors. She is currently serving on the Iowa Council of Foundations board where she was board chair from 2020-2021, and on the Funders Network board, a national philanthropy serving organization that focuses on equity, community development and the environment.
