Urban Planning graduate students Farnaz Fatahi and Jovana Kolašinac have completed an impressive five projects together while pursuing their master’s degrees.

The School of Planning and Public Affairs (SPPA) recently marked a major milestone—its 60th anniversary—with a celebratory event held at the historic Old Capitol Museum.

Travis Kraus, Director of Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities (IISC) and associate professor in the School of Planning and Public Affairs, has been awarded the prestigious Michael J. Brody Award for Faculty Excellence in Service.

Professor Bo Kapatsila and urban planning student Blake Carel are assisting Johnson County in evaluating Trip Connect, a curb-to-curb public transportation service.

Assistant Professor Samantha Zuhlke is awarded the university’s Student Supervisor of the Year Award through a Certificate of Distinction.

Dana Bartolomei (Class of 2013) discovered her passion for urban planning during her first year of a bachelor’s degree and ultimately decided to pursue a masters in planning at the University of Iowa.
